Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! It is a time of celebration for the gifts in our lives… and so we are asking you to remember to give thanks to Earth. As Ellae Elinwood, Earth is Your Sweet Spot coauthor said in a recent blog, “Earth is alive. She is everything to us. Without her we simply don’t exist.”
Please remember to thank Earth tomorrow! Pick an element of nature and let Earth know how lovely she is!
I learned about the Schumann Resonances and connecting to Earth due to a personal illness I suffered from. I was at my wit’s end and I had explored every avenue that modern medicine could offer… still I couldn’t get better. Ellae, a longtime friend, recommended I begin going on hikes and connecting my physical body to Earth. At the time my immune system was greatly compromised and I couldn’t imagine walking down the street to get the mail, let alone going on a drawn out ‘nature hike.’ Still, I felt I had limited options and I started going on hikes.
Something truly magical started happening. I experienced significant healing in my physical body and my emotional state of being changed. I went from being constantly bombarded by my thoughts and anxiety to dwelling in the lower half of my body, breathing, and knowing true peace. Eight years later, I am a different person. My enzymes have returned to healthy levels, and I gratefully have a clean bill of health!
My connection to Earth and Earth’s resonance is the primary relationship I nurture. This relationship fills me up, and has provided me with a truly abundant inner life that now manifests itself in my real life. Does this mean my life is perfect and free of pain? No. Perhaps the opposite is true. In recent years I have experienced some of the most devastating heartaches. But I believe my connection to Earth has carried me through the pain. It continues to give me more room inside to breathe, and brings me back to the beauty of life.
May the Warm Winds of Heaven blow softly upon your house. May the Great Spirit bless all who enter there.
May your Moccasins
Make happy tracks
in many snows,
and may the Rainbow
Always touch your shoulder.
[People] can learn from very little children for the hearts of the little children are pure. Therefore, the Great Spirit may show to them many things which older people miss.
What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset.
Much as we nurture relationships with people we love, we can nurture our relationship with Earth, and you will both benefit.
Especially in times of great uncertainty, when events like Hurricane Sandy happen, it is especially important to nurture and love Earth, and help her heal.
“Earth is already wounded. You can tend to her any time…. by encouraging her and being tender with her flowers, her trees, her grasses…. [You can] run your hands over the dirt as if they are her skin, which they are. Offer understanding, sympathy, and support.”
Despite her stresses, Earth’s capacity for renewal is enormous. Earth is still able to maintain areas of such beauty and balance… We are surrounded by her beauty and generosity.”
I think over again my small adventures
My fears, those small ones that seemed so big
For all the vital things I had to get and reach
And yet there is only one great thing
The only thing
To live to see the great day that dawns
And the light that fills the world.
Treat the Earth and all that dwell thereon with respect. Show great respect for your fellow beings. Work together for the benefit of all mankind. Give assistance and kindness wherever needed. Dedicate a share of your efforts to the greater good. Be truthful and honest at all times. Take full responsibility for your actions.
