When, from the depths of your heart, you spontaneously wish all beings to find true, lasting happiness, this is great love.
This grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never all dried at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn and gloaming, on seas and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls.
Because of your smile, you make life more beautiful.
Peace is our gift to each other.
Because you are alive, everything is possible.
As I traverse across the world, I am filled with wonder and awe… I know this isn’t what you find on CNN or FOX, or any of the major network channels that want you to live in fear and terror, that the world is coming to an end, that we should be afraid of everyone who isn’t “like us” and to fear and enemy that is being created by the media.
As I walk the land, I am heartened by the inherent goodness of humankind, not in some Pollyanna type of way, because evil does exist, hatred is real, I feel that from a few places and from some people on my journey. But I believe deeply in the kernel of goodness that exists in most every human being… somewhere, deep inside, we want to love and be loved.
For me, I find love in the whistling of the birds outside my window calling back and forth to each other, the gentle wave of the breeze that blows, the sun that peeks out from behind the dark storm clouds… the smell of the freesias in the vase I have placed on my desk as I write, little and big things. Seeing my oldest daughter get married in March, and feeling the love of my family I am so blessed to have, rejoicing in her happiness of finding a soul mate… grieving the loss of those who could not share that with us, but I know were with us in spirit.
Recently at Uisneach, I reflected on some of the wonderful things I experienced there that you all have read in previous postings. Here is a video that captures the spirit of the people and the land, with the amazing music of Kila. Thank you Marc for doing such an amazing job of capturing the “Spirit of the Day of Beltaine Celebration”. Watch a recent video of The Festival of the Fires in Ireland by clicking here.
